It was a question by Ms Joan Pereira on the safeguards to protect members of the public from recalcitrant sex offenders. Sir, I had said in my reply to Ms Joan Pereira that preventive detention (PD) sentences can range from seven to 14 years. I misspoke. PD sentences range from seven to 20 years. Thank you, Sir.
