Debated in Parliament on 11 Feb 2019.
Mr Melvin Yong Yik Chye asked the Minister for Transport (a) over the past three years, what is the number of road accidents that have occurred at Newton Circus and its adjoining lanes; and (b) how can such road accidents be prevented with better road safety measures.
Between 2016 and 2018, the Traffic Police recorded an average of nine accidents per year at Newton Circus and its adjoining lanes.
LTA and the Traffic Police will continue to monitor the situation at Newton Circus. We urge all users to play their part by exercising caution and consideration when using our roads.
