Debated in Parliament on 11 Sep 2017.
Mr Zainal Sapari asked the Minister for Transport what are the key lessons that LTA has learnt from the accidents involving young drivers of private hire cars.
Traffic accident data does not show that there is a higher incidence of accidents among younger drivers.
LTA also rejects applicants with a poor driving record, such as conviction for drunk driving and those who have had their driving licence revoked. These conditions are reviewed regularly.
