Debated in Parliament on 17 Aug 2015.
Mr Zainal Sapari asked the Minister for National Development whether HDB can consider granting an area for season parking to enable NEA-licensed mobile operators who sell ice-cream, canned drinks and pre-packed tidbits to continue their livelihood and help them manage their operation cost.
Housing and Development Board (HDB) car parks are provided primarily to serve the parking needs of the residents. Allowing commercial activities, such as the sale of food items, to be conducted in a dedicated season parking area could compromise the safety of the patrons and car park users and may also cause disamenities to residents

living in the area.
For these reasons, HDB has no plans to enable NEA-licensed mobile operators or other vendors to carry out their businesses in HDB car parks.
