Debated in Parliament on 21 Oct 2013.
Ms Janice Koh asked the Minister for Education over the past five years, (a) what has been the average and median household incomes for students who qualify for Direct School Admission (DSA); and (b) what are the breakdowns on household incomes and types of housing for students who qualify for DSA.
MOE does not track the household income of students admitted via the Direct School Admission (DSA) scheme. Around 60% of the students who were admitted via DSA over the last five years live in HDB flats. This proportion has increased by around five percentage points over the last five years.
