Impact Assessment of Rising Energy and Food Prices on Varying Household Groups and Targeted Support Measures

Mr Saktiandi Supaat asked the Prime Minister and Minister for Finance (a) whether the Government has assessed how rising energy and food prices arising from the Middle East conflict disproportionately affect different household groups (i) currently and (ii) potentially; and (b) whether support measures are sufficiently targeted to address such distributional impacts.

This question was addressed by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry, the Acting Minister for Transport and Senior Minister of State for Finance and the Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs, in their Ministerial Statements on the Impact of the Middle East Situation on Singapore at the Parliamentary Sitting on 7 April 2026.
