Debated in Parliament on 6 May 2026.
Mr Foo Cexiang asked the Minister for National Development in each of the past three years (a) what is the number of appeals received by HDB from couples expecting a child and who require a more spacious house, to sell their HDB flat before meeting the Minimum Occupation Period; and (b) how many of such appeals were allowed.
In each year from 2023 to 2025, the Housing and Development Board approved about 15 appeals received from flat owners who require a bigger flat due to growing family size and wish to sell their flat before fulfilling the Minimum Occupation Period.
