Debated in Parliament on 5 Aug 2026.
Assoc Prof Jamus Jerome Lim asked the Minister for National Development how is a single parent of children, who has never been married and hence is neither divorced nor widowed, able to form a family unit with them for the purpose of applying for an HDB flat.
The Member may refer to the Ministry of Social and Family Development's reply to the question asked by Mr Low Wu Yang Andre on 26 September 2025, for the Housing and Development Board's approach to supporting single unwed parents.
