Debated in Parliament on 10 Sep 2026.
Mr Ng Shi Xuan asked the Minister for Transport (a) whether the Ministry has data on the breakdown of the utilisation rates of electric vehicle charging points at petrol kiosks relative to public car parks over the past three years; and (b) if not, whether the Ministry will consider collecting or tracking such data.
In 2025, electric vehicle (EV) chargers at petrol kiosks were used for around 4.5 hours a day on average, compared to around 3.5 hours a day at public car parks. From January to August 2026, EV chargers were utilised on average for about five hours a day for both petrol kiosks and public car parks.
