Funding for AI-Generated Singapore National Day Films and Policy on Supporting Gen-AI Creative Work

Mr Fadli Fawzi asked the Minister for Culture, Community and Youth (a) whether any funding was provided by the National Arts Council or any other Government agency for the two Singapore-made films created using AI that premiered on National Day; and (b) what is the Government's position on providing financial support for creative work that uses generative AI.

No funding from the Government was provided for "Trace Project" and "Bersama Majulah", two Singapore-made AI-generated films that premiered on National Day 2026. The use of generative AI does not, in itself, determine whether a project may receive Government funding. Funding agencies assess projects against the objectives and assessment criteria of their respective funding schemes.
