Ms Gho Sze Kee asked the Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs for traffic offences committed by foreign-registered vehicles in Singapore, how are the responsible motorists identified and summoned, particularly where the vehicle owner or motorist does not reside in Singapore.
Foreign-registered vehicles caught for traffic offences will have composition fines tagged to them. Vehicles with outstanding fines, including for traffic offences, may be denied entry into Singapore at the land checkpoints. Outstanding fines must be paid before the vehicle is allowed entry.
The Ministry of Home Affairs is considering additional measures against foreign motorists who commit traffic offences in Singapore and will announce details when ready.
