Peak Hour Waiting Times and Capacity Improvement Measures for Service 43 at Bus Stops along Buangkok Green after Withdrawal of Service 43M

Mr Victor Lye asked the Acting Minister for Transport following the withdrawal of Service 43M (a) what are the observed peak-hour waiting times, headway regularity and left-behind rates for Service 43 at bus stops along Buangkok Green; and (b) whether the Ministry has assessed or plans to implement measures to improve capacity or service regularity to address prolonged waits.

Trips have been added on Service 43 to reduce the average wait from 10 minutes to six minutes during the morning peak and from 13 minutes to eight minutes during the evening peak. Commuters are generally able to board the first bus that arrives. As Service 43 operates through busy corridors, such as Serangoon and Yio Chu Kang, traffic conditions can cause some variance in bus arrival times. The bus operator will continue to optimise operations to improve the regularity of the service with the added trips.
