Debated in Parliament on 18 Feb 2025.
Mr Christopher de Souza asked the Minister for Health (a) whether there has been an increase in cases of e-vaporisers being smuggled into Singapore over the past three years; and (b) how are the relevant agencies strengthening cooperation with overseas counterparts to disrupt the supply chains of e-vaporiser devices.
The number of smuggling cases involving e-vaporisers has dropped from 152 cases in 2022 to 67 in 2024.
E-vaporisers are legal in our neighboring countries, hence the scope for cross-border collaboration on enforcement is more limited.
