Public Education for Online Sellers of Personal Mobility Aids Given Upcoming Changes to Regulations

Ms Yeo Wan Ling asked the Minister for Transport in view of the upcoming changes to Personal Mobility Aid (PMA) regulations, how will the Ministry educate and engage online sellers of PMAs in the conduct of sales, especially regarding the sales of such devices to delivery riders.

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has engaged retailers, food delivery companies and the National Delivery Champions Association on the prospective regulations pertaining to personal mobility aids (PMAs). We will continue to do so, including with online retailers, to increase awareness and understanding.

LTA will also work with the Attorney-General's Chambers to explore ways to strengthen enforcement against online platforms that promote the sale of non-compliant active mobility devices.
