- Mohd Fahmi Aliman inquired whether the Ministry tracks the usage of distributed COVID-19 self-test kits, requested data from the start of the pandemic, and asked if sustainable options are being considered to reduce their environmental impact.
- Grace Fu Hai Yien responded that approximately 113 million self-test kits have been distributed or sold in Singapore since the pandemic began, for purposes including household distribution, workplace use, and retail sales.
- She noted that while the primary focus has been on ensuring kits are adequate, safe, and effective, disposal guidelines are in place to minimize health risks, and the Ministry will monitor and consider adopting more environmentally sustainable kits when available.
